Diabetes diagnosis up by 29% in secondary care over 5 years

Diabetes remains a significant diagnosis which is now over c2.5 million (FCE's) patients being recorded each year.
Diabetes is a key long-term condition when trying to understand your local NHS hospital performance.
Increasing 30% (555,000 FCE's) over the last 5 years, and more prevalent in males than females (57%-43% split), treatment is predominantly as an Inpatient (90%) with an average length of stay of 6 IP nights
