Epidemiology - The paucity of data on the use of medical devices between primary and secondary care. Having real-world data to better demonstrate the patient outcome opportunities by changing, enhancing or staying the same regarding the clinical pathway. The difficulty in establishing if there is an unfulfilled need for medical device companies, at early stages, which aligns with business cases for NHS Trusts and CCGs (Funders).

Costing Models - The difficulty in accurately and consistently providing a clear and transparent cost-benefit analysis for the NHS. Understanding how the procedures are funded and how the CCGs (Funders) are implementing the policy to better manage costs.

Business Case / Value Proposition – Most medical device companies either don’t speak the language of the NHS and or know how to present the business case for stakeholders. Having this type of document, allows medical device companies and stakeholders to relate to their part of the business case, with a take away for each. Therefore showing a collective view of the benefits and opportunities for all.
